The next great generation!

May 18, 2011

Dr. Caroline Leaf:
“You are not an accident of fate. It’s time to dispel the lies the enemy has spoken over this generation!”

I’ve had the honor of traveling the mission field and this quote brought me right back to all of those children. God has a perfect plan with a perfect purpose for each and every one of them no matter what their circumstances.

I pray that the Holy Spirit would come upon each and every one of them this day!

Beautiful

May 16, 2011

Bethel has a song called “Forever and a Day” and in it is a line that says “I was ashamed you called me beautiful, now I’m yours you call me beautiful.”

Very simple – God loves you no matter where you are, what you’ve done or how unworthy you think you are. HE IS LOVE. If you ever feel like you have to earn your way into God’s love by trying to make your life perfect forget it. It’s not going to happen. Begin your relationship with Jesus right where you are! He’ll take care of getting your life on the right track, your job is to let Him.

The dreaded devotional time

May 15, 2011

I have long struggled with a devotional time. Being an administrator, most of what I do on a daily basis is scheduled. I plan out my work, my day and keep things organized. Somehow I have difficultly doing that with God. I’ve have spent so much time feeling guilty not finding the right time of day to spend reading, praying, studying my bible etc.  I remember a few years back Ron and I thought we would make an effort to get up at 6am and read our bible together. That lasted about 2 days. I’ve tried getting up early on my own; fail, lunchtime; fail, before bed; fail…you get it.

The 30 day challenge along with a devotional called “My Utmost for His Highest” and a book called “Crazy Love” changed the way I think about my God time and took all the guilt away! Here is what I discovered – God wants my devotion ALL THE TIME! The last thing I believe God wants is for me to carve out a nice 30 min. of time for Him. He deserves all of me and all the time. I could quote scripture after scripture from cover to cover in the bible of how important it is to make God a 24/7 in my life.  I have the 30 day challenge on the web, I can look at that anytime I am on the computer.  I have the book Crazy Love on my Kindle app for my iPhone; awesome book on God’s love any time I have a few minutes to read. My Utmost for His Highest is in traditional paperback and sits on my desk. Great read before I get busy in my day. I’ve been launched into just talking to God constantly!

I have found myself and my relationship with God launched to a whole new level by taking the pressure off and just doing what I know He wants anyway – ‘Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence.’

God’s love

May 13, 2011

I read in a devotional today something that really resonated with me.

“The knowledge that God has loved me beyond all limits will compel me to go into the world to love others in the same way.”

There are no requirements for God to love you! God knows every fiber of your being. He knows every thing you have ever done. He also is excited to truly connect with you so you live out the plan He has for your life. God loves you unconditionally.

Psalm 139:17-18

“How precious are your thoughts about me,[b] O God.
They cannot be numbered!
18 I can’t even count them;
they outnumber the grains of sand!
And when I wake up,
you are still with me!”

Today, look at every person with that in mind. Love them the way God loves you!
